Support Haytham & Mohammad’s Nutrition & Medical Care

Meet Haytham. Haytham spent his 18th birthday on November 9 in a leaking tent in a refugee camp surveilled by drones and terrorized by unpredictable bombings.
Haytham was once passionate about painting, building homes and family. He is now only focused on surviving. Haytham was born and raised in Gaza, a beautiful place to live in community. As we have seen, Gaza has now been reduced to rubble, ash, famine and death. When Haytham was out of his house, it was bombed and his whole family was murdered.
Haytham is sick and starving. The cost of food has ballooned, for example the price of 25 kg of flour is now 735$. Haytham has an infection that requires a weekly treatment of azithromycin that costs 15$. He also needs to get a surgery that costs 1500$.
Haytham has a friend named Mohammed, who suffers from hemiplegia and is unable to afford treatment. Sleeping on a mat on the ground in a tent, Mohammed is now suffering from malnutrition and necrotic wounds. Mohammed needs an air mattress to ease his suffering, and funds to travel abroad for medical treatment.
Haytham and Mohammed are living in a war zone, with bombing and artillary fire in their neighborhood.
The money raised from this fundraiser will go directly towards feeding Haytham and Mohammed and providing medical care. Our focus is on keeping Mohammed and Haytham alive and supporting their dignity.
In Haytham’s words:
“Before the war, I was learning the profession of painting and plastering walls and houses. Now, everything has been destroyed. I wanted to build my future with my own hands, but everything has become ashes. I had my birthday a few weeks ago, on November 9th. I have celebrated every birthday with my family and friends. I used to laugh with them and dance a lot. Now I am alone. Now everything has become too much. I am still shocked. My heart is troubled, my heart hurts me, my heart hurts. I am hurt, and hurt a lot.
I don’t know what to do now. I want to eat sand. My dream is to eat bread. My dream is to bring my family back for a minute.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
My name is Mariah, I am 28 years old and grew up as a settler on Wamponoag and Massachusett land. I am now living in Italy.
I met Haytham through a friend, who connected us through Instagram messenger. My Arabic-speaking husband and I have talked with Haytham for hours about how difficult the situation in Gaza is now, how survival is a struggle, and how much he misses his parents and little sister.
Despite Haytham’s own suffering, he is nevertheless advocating for his friend Mohammed, who comes from a poor family, to get his needs met.
THANK YOU!
While our original goal was to fundrasie to support Haythams’ flight to Egypt, now the borders are closed indefinitely with a total seige on Gaza and aerial and ground attacks on journalists, doctors, civilians, hospitals, water tanks, bakeries, and more. The infrastructure of Gaza is being systematically destroyed and Haytham is sick and starving. Our priority now is to keep Haytham alive until the border opens again. Haytham is also advocating for his from Mohammed, who is paralyzed and has necrotic wounds. The most imperative action right now is to support a 1500$ surgery for Haytham and an air mattress and medical evacuation for Mohammed..
Gaza is being slaughtered with American and European bombs while we look on in horror. But we are not helpless. In fact, far from it.
Please donate and share this with your circles. Our moral imperative is to support those whose lives have been unimaginably devastated by our tax dollars and silence.
Thanks to your support, Haytham survived the 15-month genocide in Gaza. He was able to eat enough to survive, to purchase warmer clothes and a cell phone. Now he is very tired, but has no home to go back to, nor family left on Earth. Further, Trump is “not confident” he can keep the ceasefire implemented. It’s imperative that Haytham gets to Egypt as soon as possible!
I am grateful to know some excellent people in Egypt who will help take care of Haytham after he arrives. These include doctors, students, sheikhs and many more people who will take Haytham in and help him get connected with all the resources he requires.
However, the price of a passport and for coordination to cross the border from Rafah into Egypt is about 3000€. Haytham has survived the USA’s bombs raining down on him and striking his family. Can we ensure that he is safe at last? Only 18 years old, Haytham is so worthy of space to grieve and build life anew. Will you help make that happen?
Please, donate what you can and share this with your communities, so that Haytham can get the support he so desperately needs and deserves.
Hello all! I hope you have had a peaceful transition into 2025- may this year bring peace and justice to the oppressed. Haytham was able to buy a change of clothes, as well as some food, such as eggs. He is incredibly grateful for the support, as he lost his four siblings and parents to an occupation’s bomb.
Unfortunately, the border crossing to Egypt is still closed, there is heavy rain and cold weather in Gaza. We are trying to support him so that he can begin to heal and recover when he gets to Egypt. His priorities at this time are to buy nylon to reinforce his tent and to buy food to eat. His longer-term goals are to pay for a passport and a new phone for his exit to Egypt (he sold his phone to buy food).
If you are able, please continue donating and passing the fundraiser forward! Thank you all for your support!
I also have a message from Haytham (edited for clarity):
“Thank you, this is Haytham. I have received your money and, dear donators, I will be exiting Palestine when the border opens. I need aroung $1000 to exit the border and for 10 days food supply. I will be moving to Egypt and will try to get myself into an orphanage, and potentially get government aid for food and water, as well as for education. I ensure I would stay in education if I reach Egypt. Also I would try to get work as a laborer or in any other sector, but all of this would take time. Until then I ask you to please keep donating until I reach my goal.
Inflation in Palestine has increased prices of goods and services a lot, and I struggle to get basic necessities, such as soap and food. Please help me survive this ridiculous inflation. I will only eat twice a day to cut my expenditure. In the end, I thank you for your support. It truly means a lot. I might have died long ago without this support. May God bless you.”
